NEW INNOVATIONS
Innovation under pressure: new rules and technology in cycling
What are the truly latest innovations in this specific market? Where did it all begin, and what is still legal to use today? Within cycling, the UCI regulations are becoming increasingly strict, especially with safety in mind.
Over the years, the technology has improved significantly. No cables are visible anymore, every seam is recessed to eliminate aerodynamic pressure points, and at Autumn Wheels, we also focus on getting the most out of the material – always with safety as our priority. The goal: to help you, as an athlete, get the most out of yourself and your equipment, safely.
With this blog, we want to keep our customers and followers informed about new developments and technologies in the cycling and triathlon world. This is especially true given the new UCI regulations that will take effect in 2026:
-
A minimum handlebar width of 40cm (from outside to inside), with an internal width of at least 32cm between the shifters
-
A maximum rim height of 65 mm
-
New helmet standards for road and time trial helmets
-
A maximum internal fork width of 115mm at the front and 145mm at the rear
What are the pros and cons of this? And why exactly has the UCI chosen these rules? These are all questions we want to discuss with your input and our expertise.
We post a new update every week, so be sure to keep an eye on our blogs and social media!
